About me

Who I am

My name is Jana Kovářová. I have been painting and creating all my life. Becoming a tattoo artist in 2011 was a dream come true, and I am grateful that I get to be a professional artist.

For me, tattooing is a deep inner connection. It is not just a picture but a story and part of a life's journey. That is why I approach every motif with the utmost sensitivity. I value originality and a conscious approach to tattooing. That is what fulfils me in my work.

Although I studied multimedia and design at Tomas Bata University in Zlín, what influenced me most were the figure drawing classes in Radek Petříček's studio. Today my work is mostly colour realism, animal motifs and shades of grey. I love working with detail, soft transitions and light.

Creating is an inseparable part of me. But a tattoo artist's work is extremely demanding, both physically and mentally. To be able to pass energy on, I need to draw it in for myself as well.

I find it in nature. I love mountains, forests and rocks. Walking barefoot in the woods or running along the ridges… I try to keep a healthy, sustainable lifestyle, which is also why I like to play with breath and cold. My biggest support comes from my spirited children and my creative partner, who always know how to point me in the right direction.

My atelier sits in the Wallachian countryside on the edge of Vsetín. It is a bright space with large windows that gives clients a view of the green hills and of the sky :). I believe that with me you will enjoy not only an intense tattoo experience but also some rest and relaxation.

The path

• Tomas Bata University in Zlín – bachelor's degree in fine art, fashion design studio (BcA.).
• 2011 – accredited 630-hour tattoo training at the Tattoo Zone studio in Krnov: hygiene and epidemiology, dermatology, first aid, tattoo theory and practice.
• 2011 – my own studio in Vsetín. Hundreds of pieces from small motifs to large full-colour areas, focused on realism and detail.
• 2013 – Tattoo Convention Prague.
• 2014 – the Tattoo Čtyřlístek charity event in aid of the children's home in Příbor.
• 2023 – Ink Meeting, 1st place in the Black and grey category.
• 2024 and 2025 – Tatranský tatér 2024 and 2025 and Tattoo Expo Haná 2024.
• 2025 – part of the Vločkování charity event together with Martin Janáč (Janytattoo), Tom Peřka (featherworks_tattoos), Peťa Krejhar (Devilandsun.tattoo) and Vendy Fojtíková Měřičková (meric.tattoo).

How I work

• Connection. I bring together complex personal themes as well as purely design-driven motifs. Realism and surrealism are my main path, and I am always glad when a client trusts me and lets my own hand show.
• Every design is made to measure. Your inspiration is the beginning. I need to understand the theme, so I offer in-person or online consultations where we work out every detail together. I turn the motif into a unique original just for you.
• Honesty. I will tell you when the size, placement or motif does not make sense, and suggest what will work.
• Fewer clients, more time. I work alone and take on as many projects as I can do properly and with full care. Every client gets my complete attention.

Beyond tattooing

Painting, drawing, illustration and other work. I am convinced that to capture each of your ideas as faithfully as possible, I have to keep studying and learning. The best way is to switch between techniques and media, but also to talk with colleagues and, now and then, to take a complete break from creativity :)

International clients are welcome. Consultations are in English, Vsetín is about an hour from Ostrava airport and two hours from Bratislava or Kraków.
